You can only choose one action per word on the spell check result list and save them all at once. Once you click on “Save All Changes’ button, the plugin will then go through the list and apply the changes to each word on the list.

Please note:

  • You can only save one action/edit per word on the list.
  • The word/s that you don’t make any changes to, will not be changed unless it is a repeated word and you choose the “Apply to Entire Site” function under the edit option.
  • The plugin will remove the word that was changed from the list once you click the Save all changes button.

You can select multiple words from the results table and add them to My Dictionary or the Ignore List. Each word can only be on one of these lists, either on the Ignore List or My Dictionary.

You can also visit the “My Dictionary” page and add multiple words to the list on top of the page.

The words that are added to the ignore list, will simply be ignored and will not show up on the scan results anymore.

You can add multiple words to the Ignore list by visiting the “Ignore List” page and adding multiple words, one per line, in the box on top of the page.

The words that are added to My Dictionary will not show up on the results page and will show as suggested spelling in future spell check audits.

We have created My Dictionary for your custom words or words that are used on the internet but they are not listed on the dictionary yet.

Currently WordPress spell checker function audits page/post titles and descriptions from the following SEO plugins:

  • All in One SEO Pack
  • Rank Math SEO
  • Yoast SEO

See a full list of integrations here.

You can add words to your My Dictionary:

  • from the results list
  • by clicking on my dictionary and adding words to the list.

To Delete/Edit the words from My Dictionary:

  1. Click on My Dictionary
  2. Select the desired word to delete or edit.

The WordPress spell checker function has some social media and common internet names added to My Dictionary. We will continue to build the My Dictionary list for your convenience.

Generally, not. But in some cases the CSS codes are setup for certain word size/length. If you change and apply a suggested spelling, it may change the looks of your page/s and your page/s may need to get fixed, as a result.

Talk to your webmaster if you are not sure about doing this. WP Spell Check does not take responsibility for changing your website layout because of applying suggested spellings.

We also recommend installing back up plugins in general to make sure you can go back to a restore point if something goes wrong on your website.

Some WordPress themes also offer page revisions which allow you to go back to an older version of your page.

If you experience an issue with our plugin, please go ahead with a support ticket.

Some links to pages and posts can be hard coded to go to a specific URL. Such links will not be automatically updated when you update a page or post slug with WP Spell Check.

Once you update a menu link, you may need to find all instances of the link that are hard coded on your website and update them as well. If you are not sure about this, contact your webmaster and ask for help.

Links that will be automatically updated include menus, which are managed via the WordPress administration panel, and blog feeds, which display the latest blog posts.
